Did you know that you lose an average of 5% of your muscle strength every decade?
This is known as sarcopaenia. Most people know about bone loss (osteoporosis) but muscle loss may be as important. This class is suitable for the older adult who would like to strengthen up but is not keen on joining a gym.
Our Stronger for Longer class incorporates strengthening exercises for the arms, legs and core muscles and balance training is an important part of it. Resistance training will involve using stretchy band (we can supply it), your own body weight and some free weights. Classes last one hour.
A set of 8 classes on Zoom costs €120 and we will guide you through the process of setting up on Zoom if you are not familiar with it. If you are interested in doing a FREE trial class, please let us know. Classes are run in sets of eight and you can join at any time. If you do a second class in the same calendar week, it only costs €5. Please give us notice (about 3 hours) if you are unable to attend and there is a charge of €5 for late cancellations or no shows.
FREE CLASSES IN MARCH
Seeing as we are still in lockdown, we are running some FREE classes during the month of March for those who have never done our Zoom classes before. The classes will be run on Wednesdays at 2.30 pm on March 3rd, 10th, 24th and 31st (no class on St. Patrick’s Day). Call or email for more information.
Pilates classes are run in sets (with the exception of Post-Natal Pilates) and the date below each Pilates class indicates when the next set starts. Other classes can be joined at any time. At the moment, all are classes are being run on Zoom. We may be able to have one to four in the clinic depending on the Covid restrictions that are in place at the time.
